They also share the same feisty disposition, small size, algae-based diet, and stunning blue and black coloration seen in both males and females.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e  With such an aggressive and territorial demeanor, these mbuna can hold their own against other mbuna with the same attitude. Avoid placing them with more peaceful species as the midnight mbuna can quickly overwhelm and injure them. Their aggression can be lessened by ensuring they are given plenty of space and rockwork to break up territories. Having at least 2-3 females per male will also help reduce violent behavior. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e  Aside from their feisty nature, midnight demasoni can be a great mbuna species for beginner and experienced keepers alike as they are very hardy and prolific spawners.
