Remarks: African Butterfly Cichlids (Anomalochromis thomasi) are found in Guinea and Sierra Leone, where they live in forest streams underneath plenty of vegetation. They are happy in a variety of water conditions in the aquarium, however, as long as it is kept clean. They are fairly peaceful and stay under 4", making them perfect for a 55 gallon tank with Congo Tetras or other African schooling fish.
