Remarks: Blue Orchid Peacocks (Aulonocara kandeensis) have males that show a unique black body and white "blaze" from the nose to the dorsal fin sets this species apart from other Aulonocara. They are endemic to Kande Island on the western side of Lake Malawi. They prefer to feed over a sandy substrate, but typically remain close to a rocky structure for breeding and security.
