Remarks: Golden Topminnows (Fundulus chrysotus) are native to the southeastern United States, from Texas to North Carolina. These active fish prefer shallow, warm, and vegetated waters where they primarily occupy the surface, feeding on bugs that happen to land near the water. Females are golden-green with gold flecks along their sides, while males have red-orange spots that begin at their caudal fin and travel halfway up their body.
