Remarks: Do best in groups, prefer colder water, need tons of O2 and current (turnover of 15-20x / hour), need very clean water, less shy if in heavily planted tank, from Asian rapids, omnivore but lean carnivore (worms and small crustaceans) need varied diet, need biofilm and algae, soft bellies so need soft sand and rounded stones, peaceful but can get territorial with similar loaches if not provided enough space, can climb glass (lid needed), peaceful but will sometimes go after small shrimps
