Remarks: Satanoperca daemon are closely related to Geophagus species and require a sandy substrate due to their earth-eating habits. S. daemon differ from their relatives, S. leucosticta, by having fewer blue spots on the face and nose. Their bodies shine a metallic gold and they are fairly peaceful for their size. They have three black spots along their body, and long trailing fins.
