Remarks: Stigmatochromis melanchros are a predatory hap from Lake Malawi. They have a unique dark-green coloration not often seen among cichlids, with three black spots along their flanks similar to Otopharynx spp. They are also known as Stigmatochromis tolae. They are piscivorous fish that spend their time in the rocky areas of the lake, defending large boulders as territories.
