Zebra White Lab Lundo Island (Labidochromis caeruleus)

Remarks: Labidochromis caeruleus "Zebra White Lab" from Lundo Island, Tanzania, are herbivorous mbuna that strongly defend rocky territories. They are a regional variant of the common Yellow Lab cichlid. Males are light-blue or white depending on mood, with black bands running from their gill plate to caudal peduncle. The picture with the blue background shows a dominant male attempting to attract a nearby female with his bright white colors. The picture with the black background shows the same male when kept alone or without a need to "turn on" his full coloration. They are a very interesting variant and their best coloration will come when kept with several females.
